NSW: Man undergoes surgery after Sydney hit and run

SYDNEY, April 22 AAP - A man is undergoing surgery after being involved in a hit and
run in Sydney's north-west.

The 21-year-old pedestrian was walking along Victoria Street at Castle Hill just before
2.30am (AEST) today when he was hit by a car.

The driver drove off, leaving him injured on the roadway, until a taxi driver came
to his aid and called an ambulance.

The Castle Hill man was taken to Westmead Hospital where he is undergoing surgery.

As well as losing his spleen he suffered serious arm injuries.

Anyone who saw the incident is urged to contact the Metropolitan Crash Investigation
Unit or Crimestoppers.
