Vic: Boy killed in alleged drink-drive crash as mum watches

A 25 year-old drunk driver who crashed through a front fence killing a six-year-old
boy is is in police custody .. but is yet to be charged.

Police allege the man was driving with a blood alcohol level of .109 .. more than twice
the legal limit .. when he lost control of his Holden Commodore on Crinigan Road in Morwell
at about seven o'clock last night.

The car crashed through a fence into a front yard where the boy was playing with his
mother and two teenage boys.

Intensive care paramedic TONY DAVIS says the scene was chaotic.

He says they found the boy lying conscious on the ground and rushed him to La Trobe
Hospital .. where he later died from serious head and abdominal injuries.

His mother and the two teenagers were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Major collisions police will attend the crash scene today.
