Fed: Access predicts Aust to remain world's miracle economy

CANBERRA, Jan 20 AAP - Australia would remain the world's miracle economy throughout2002 and buck the continuing global slowdown, a national forecaster said today.

Access Economics, in its business outlook for the next five years, said the low dollarplus a booming housing sector would help keep Australia ahead of most other world economies.

It said inflation would remain low, domestic interest rates were unlikely to fall anyfurther, while unemployment was set to reach between 7.25 per cent and 7.5 per cent beforefalling towards the end of the year.
