FED:Mining wages proving a lure from some

Big salaries and lucrative remuneration packages are luring workers to the mining sector
from other parts the economy.

A new Treasury report says firms in Western Australia and Queensland are finding it
more difficult recruiting staff than non-mining states.

As a result, strong wages growth is expected to continue in the near-term and the recent
drop in iron ore prices is not expected to have a significant impact on activity in Australia.
