Qld: Violence starts new year in Queensland
Violence in the heart of Brisbane city has marred the start of the new year in Queensland.
Police say about 70 people were involved in a brawl on the Queen Street Mall whichstarted after someone produced a knife.
Police have confirmed just one arrest has been made so far in relation to the fight.
Numerous injuries were sustained in the incident.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman says paramedics were kept extremely busy throughoutthe night with incidents ranging from stab wounds to needle stick injuries to drink spiking.
