WA: Robert Hughes defamation case closer to trial=2

ABC Radio and the Nine Network have also been named in defamation proceedings over
the broadcast of the allegedly defamatory comments by Mr Hughes.

The comments in question were allegedly made by Mr Hughes to reporters outside the
Broome Magistrates Court and in interviews by Perth ABC radio announcer Liam Bartlett
and Nine's Today Show presenter Tracy (Tracy) Grimshaw.

The interviews followed the dismissal of charges against Mr Hughes that related to
a car accident south of Broome in May 1999.
