VIC: Residents condemn university demolition plans

MELBOURNE, Jan 10 AAP - Melbourne University was showing disrespect for its history in
proposing to demolish turn-of-the-century buildings to make way for a $250 million expansion
of its Carlton campus, opponents of the project said today.

The Carlton Residents Association, at a public meeting today, said the plan to demolish 15
historic terrace houses at the southern end of the university would be fought by locals and
heritage groups.
